Apa itu Label?

    Label is an information contained in the outer packaging of a product or goods. Label adalah informasi yang ada dalam kemasan produk tertentu.
    The purpose is to give detailed information about a product (memberikan informasi rinci mengenai produk tertentu).
     Kemasan atau label biasanya terdapat dalam produk makanan (food), minuman (drink), obat(medicine), Produk kecantikan (Cosmetics) dan lainnya.

Dalam Kemasan produk/label biasanya memberikan beberapa informasi sebagai berikut:

Active and Inactive Ingredients

Bagian ini mempunyai arti “zat aktif” dan “zat inaktif”. Apakah itu? Yang dimaksud dengan zat atau kandungan aktif, yaitu senyawa kimia yang dimaksudkan untuk menyembuhkan gejala-gejala penyakit sesuai dengan tujuan pembuatan obat tersebut. Dalam satu jenis obat, sangat mungkin terdapat lebih dari satu jenis kandungan aktif. Biasanya zat atau kandungan aktif ini selalu ada di bagian atas label.

Sedangkan, zat atau kandungan inaktif adalah segala sesuatu yang terkandung di dalam obat tetapi tidak dimaksudkan untuk menyembuhkan gejala. Yang termasuk ke dalam kandungan inaktif adalah zat pewarna, zat perasa, atau zat pengikat kandungan obat. Biasanya zat atau kandungan inaktif ini selalu ada di bagian bawah label.

Uses

Bagian ini mempunyai arti “penggunaan atau indikasi”. Ini adalah informasi mengenai jenis gejala penyakit yang bisa diatasioleh obat tersebut, misalnya meringankan sakit kepala dan hidung tersumbat.

Warnings

Bagian ini mempunyai arti “peringatan”. Kata ini sering tercantum pada kemasan atau label obat-obat tertentu untuk memberi peringatan, misalnya tentang sifat obat ataupun pemakaiannya kepada pemakai atau konsumen obat tersebut. Peringatan ini juga dapat berisi informasi anjuran berkonsultasi ke dokter jika sakit berlanjut setelah pemakaian obat, efek samping yang mungkin ditimbulkan, kondisi-kondisi yang bisa menimbulkan efek samping dan larangan penggunaan obat pada kondisi tertentu.

Directions

Bagian ini bukan berarti “arah” ya Squad, melainkan “petunjuk” pada kemasan obat. Petunjuk ini berisiberapa takaran dan berapa sering obat harus digunakan. Untuk obat berbentuk cair, pastikan untuk menggunakan alat yang tepat sesuai petunjuk. Misalnya, sendok teh untuk takaran anak-anak, sedangkan sendok makan untuk dewasa.

Bagian ini mempunyai arti “informasi lain” dan memuat tentang keterangan yang lain atau di luar hal-hal sebelumnya. Biasanya tentang bagaimana sebaiknya menyimpan obat tersebut. Misalnya, menyimpan obat di tempat kering atau tidak lembab atau jauh dari sinar matahari.
